We had a rare free Saturday with Mark and decided to go to the site of the Oklahoma City bombing. It was very surreal. Where the reflection pool is, use to be a main street downtown and all of the chairs represent the lives lost during the bombing, the small chairs are for the children. Behind them is part of the actual building that fell, reebar and all, to help everyone remember all that was lost on that tragic day. The tree is a thank you to all those who helped in the aftermath, around it reads, " To the Courageous and Caring who Responded from Near and Far". There are two black walls, one on each side of the reflection pool, one reads 9:01 for the time that the city was last "itself" and the other reads 9:03, the time of the bombing.
